The “Menalon Social Enterprise” was recently awarded with the Gold Medal at the 2018 Tourism Awards in the category «Specialty Travel – Outdoor Tourism» for its two main initiatives:

As Magia Tsokli, the Chairman of the Jury’s Committee said “Tourism Awards rewards the passion of some people, the quality, the innovation and the healthy competition in the bright side of the Greek economy”.
The “Menalon Social Enterprise” is the 1st Social Enterprise in Peloponnese, established in 2012 and with the help of numerous volunteers in 2015, created the first certified trail in Greece, the Menalon Trail, in order to become the key driver and leader of growth in the area. It should be noted, also, that for this initiative, it was awarded with the Bronze Medal at the 2016 Tourism Awards in the category «Tourism development – Contribution to the local economy».
The Menalon Trail, a network of eight footpaths spanning 75km of forests, valleys and rivers, named after the mountain range connecting the regions of Arcadia and Gortynia in the Peloponnese, is the first hiking route in Greece to receive European Certification and be placed among the Leading Quality Trails (LQT) – Best of Europe.
These awards fill all of us with extra pride and bolster our commitment to continue and intensify our efforts that began four years ago with even higher goals.
