“Visit arcadia on foot”

Hiked 5 out of the 8 sections of the Menalon Trail over the Easter weekend, visiting Stemnitsa, Dimitsana, Zygovisti, Elati, Vytina, Magouliana and Valtseniko and enjoyed every bit of it. The trail is very well sign posted and way marked and offers a large variety of experiences: short and log sections, easy to moderately intense hikes, with parts of historical interest (old churches, monasteries, villages, stone bridges) and parts more nature intensive.
Every section trail head/end offers detailed information panels, and at least one taverna to refuel after the hike.
Many segments run along small streams with running water (at least in spring) something rather rare and hence appreciated in Greece. There are also numerous springs, clearly indicated on the map, that allow to refill on fresh water.
